Brevard is still building. Viera keeps pushing north and west, West Melbourne is filling in along Minton and Palm Bay Road, and the older grid in Eau Gallie and Historic Downtown Melbourne produces a different job entirely — a tight infill lot with neighbours on both sides, a narrow apron and nowhere to stage. An open Palm Bay quarter-acre lets you drop a 40 wherever it suits the crew. The same builder often runs both in the same week, and the container plan has to change with the site.

The waste stream here is heavy. Concrete block, stucco, mortar, tile and slab work dominate, and that material fills a container by tonnage long before it fills by volume. Wood, drywall, packaging and offcuts are the light half, and mixing the two carelessly is how a job ends up paying to move air in one box and overloading the next. Keeping the heavy stream separate is usually cheaper — see our concrete and heavy debris service and the Brevard construction disposal guide.

Then there is weather and ground. From June through September you get a hard afternoon storm most days, and sandy soil with a high water table turns soft fast. A loaded truck ruts a wet pad, and once it does the next delivery is worse. We plan the set on the firmest approach available, work with your Sunshine 811 locate marks, and schedule swaps early in the day during the wet season so the truck is not fighting a saturated site at four in the afternoon.

Construction Jobs We Supply Across Brevard

New Residential Build-Out

Framing offcuts, sheathing, packaging, stucco lath and block cutoffs from slab through dry-in. Volume is steady rather than spiky, so a phased swap schedule beats guessing at one big box.

Block, Stucco And Masonry Waste

The dominant heavy stream in Florida construction. Dense enough that a mid-size container hits its weight limit while it still looks half full, so we size down on purpose here.

Slab, Footer And Driveway Concrete

Broken slab and footer concrete is the heaviest material on any Brevard site. Kept as a clean load it has a proper disposal route, so we run it in its own dedicated container.

Interior Remodel And Tenant Fit-Out

Drywall, furring, trim, ceiling grid and old cabinetry. Light and bulky, which makes it the one part of a job where the larger container genuinely earns its space on the lot.

Tear-Down And Site Clearing

Full structure removal produces block, tile, framing and roofing together. Demolition triggers its own inspection and notification steps, so the schedule gets built around those first.

Tight Infill Lots In Eau Gallie

Older streets with narrow aprons, neighbours close on both sides and utilities overhead. A shorter container and a planned approach beat a big box that cannot be placed or serviced.

Open Palm Bay And Viera Sites

Room to stage means a larger container and fewer interruptions. We still set on the firmest ground available, because a wet-season pad will rut under a loaded truck in one afternoon.

Land Clearing And Vegetative Debris

Palmetto, palm and cleared brush travel as a separate clean load to a mulching facility. Mixing them into a construction container gets the load reclassified at the scale.

Choosing A Size For A Brevard Jobsite

For most residential build-outs the 30 yard is the default, holding framing scrap, packaging and drywall between phases without needing a swap every other day. Go to the 40 yard only where the material is light and bulky and the lot has genuine room — an open Viera or Palm Bay site during interior fit-out, not a downtown infill lot. For block, stucco, tile or broken concrete, drop right down to a 20 yard or smaller and run more pulls, because dense masonry reaches a legal load weight long before it reaches the top rail. Ordering the biggest available box for the heaviest material is the most expensive mistake on a Florida jobsite, and we would rather talk it through before delivery than reload on the day.

Site Access, Locates And Wet-Season Scheduling

Before we set anything on a working site we want to know where the approach is, what the surface is, and what is buried. Call in your Sunshine 811 locate and keep the marks visible, because a loaded roll-off truck puts serious point load over anything shallow. On sand, a compacted pad or a run of plywood makes the difference between a clean set and a rutted mess. We schedule wet-season swaps for the morning where we can, since an afternoon thunderstorm turns a workable pad into a bog in twenty minutes. Keep the container clear of stormwater inlets and swales — everything on this coast eventually drains toward the Indian River Lagoon, and inspectors watch it. Our demolition debris service covers the tear-down side of the same planning.

Construction Dumpster Rental FAQs

What size dumpster does a new home build need in Viera?

Most production builders run a 30 yard through framing and dry-in, swapped on a phase schedule rather than on demand. Interior fit-out generates light bulky waste and can justify a 40 if the lot has room to stage one. The exception is masonry: block, stucco and slab work belong in a smaller container run more often. Send us the phase plan and we will build a swap schedule around it instead of leaving you to call each time.

Why does concrete need its own container?

Two reasons. Weight comes first — broken concrete, block and tile reach a legal load limit at a fraction of a container volume, so a big box full of it cannot legally leave the site. The second is disposal: a clean concrete load has a recycling route that a mixed load does not, and contamination closes that route. Keeping it separate is straightforward on site. Our heavy debris page explains how we run those loads.

Can I mix land clearing debris with construction waste?

No. Florida separates yard trash from solid waste, so palmetto, palm, brush and cleared vegetation must travel as a clean load to a yard-waste or mulching facility. Drop a few loads of brush into a construction container and the whole thing gets reclassified or rejected at the scale, which costs you a trip and a schedule day. Order yard waste removal alongside the construction box and keep two piles from day one.

How do afternoon storms affect delivery in the summer?

From June into September you can plan on a hard storm most afternoons, and sandy ground with a high water table takes very little to soften. We book wet-season deliveries and swaps early in the day where the schedule allows, and we will not put a loaded truck on a saturated pad just to hit a slot. Firm up the approach with plywood or compacted base and it stops being a problem. Florida Division of Emergency Management tracks the seasonal picture.

Do you handle demolition permits and notifications?

We supply and haul containers — the permitting and any pre-demolition asbestos survey and notification sit with the contractor or owner. Demolition in Florida generally triggers an inspection and a notification step before work starts, and we cannot accept asbestos-containing material in any container. Check current requirements with the Florida Building Commission and your local building department, because these do get updated.
