Whole house, all at once
30 Yard Dumpster Rental in Melbourne, CO
Twenty-two feet of box with six feet of side wall — the same footprint as a 20 with a great deal more air above it. This is the container for whole-house cleanouts, multi-room remodels, Viera framing waste, commercial turnovers and real storm volume.
A 30 yard is 22 feet long, 8 feet wide and six feet tall — nine to twelve pickup loads. It shares a footprint with the 20 and gains everything in side height, which is the cheapest capacity there is when your debris is bulky rather than dense. This is the size for Brevard jobs that do not stop at one room.
- Capacity30 cubic yards

Why people choose the 30 yard
Whole-house work is the core of it. A long-held Melbourne or Eau Gallie home being cleared after a sale carries decades of furniture, boxes, garage shelving, attic storage and lanai furniture, and none of it was ever stored downstairs — Florida houses are slab-on-grade, so it all sits in the garage, the attic and the shed. Six feet of side takes that volume without a mid-week swap. Brevard has a large older population and estate work runs year-round; our estate cleanout and junk removal pages cover how we phase a full house.
New construction is the other half. Viera keeps building out with West Melbourne behind it, and framing offcuts, sheathing, packaging, banding and cardboard eat volume faster than anything else on a site. Commercial tenant turnovers along New Haven Avenue and Wickham Road behave the same way — shelving, fixtures, ceiling tile and ductwork out in a week. See construction dumpster rental and construction debris disposal in Brevard County for how loads get sorted before they ever reach the scale.
After a storm this is usually the right box. Nicole chewed the beachside dune line from Satellite Beach down through Indialantic in 2022, and Matthew, Irma and Ian all left the same mix behind: soffit and fascia, fence panels, shingles, screening, ruined drywall and soaked contents. Vegetative debris does not ride with any of that — palm fronds, limbs and hedge trimmings go as a separate clean load under Florida's yard trash separation rule. Our storm debris cleanup guide and yard waste removal explain the split.

- Whole-house cleanouts and large estate jobs
- Multi-room remodels running weeks at a time
- New construction framing and packaging waste

- Storm debris: soffit, fascia, fence and shingles
- Water-damaged drywall, insulation and contents
- Large garage, attic and shed clear-outs
- Shelving, office furniture and ceiling tile
Not the right size for
- Concrete, block, terrazzo, tile, sand or fill
- Full concrete barrel tile roof tear-offs
- Short beachside drives with no real approach
- Vegetative yard trash mixed into the load
Will it fit?
This box needs about 60 feet of straight approach, roughly 10 and a half feet of width, and a genuine 20 feet or more of overhead for the hoist, because six feet of side means the arm works higher and longer. Live oak canopy, sabal palm and low service drops disqualify more placements than anything else here, so walk the run and look up before you book. Nothing swings over a screen enclosure or pool cage. Sandy soil and wet-season ground rut badly under this weight, and protection boards go down on paver and shell drives as standard. Short barrier-island drives rarely take it. Flag septic tanks and drainfields out toward Malabar and Grant-Valkaria.
Before delivery, move cars and bins, mark irrigation heads and septic lids, and tell us about new concrete, soft ground, a steep grade or low power lines. Our delivery and driveway protection guide covers all of it.

Is a 30 yard dumpster enough for a whole-house cleanout?
For most three and four bedroom Melbourne houses, yes, in a single drop. Florida homes are slab-on-grade, so the accumulation sits in the garage, the attic, a shed and a screen room, and that material is bulky rather than heavy — exactly what six feet of side wall is for. Where it runs over is a long-held home with a packed garage plus a workshop, and then we plan a swap up front rather than discovering it on the last afternoon. Walk us through the rooms and we will call it.
Can I put storm debris in a 30 yard?
Yes, for the built material: soffit, fascia, fence panels, shingles, screening, wet drywall, insulation and ruined contents. Vegetative debris cannot go in with it. Florida separates yard trash from solid waste, so palm fronds, limbs and hedge trimmings ride as a separate clean load to a yard waste facility or the load gets rejected at the scale. County right-of-way pickup after a declared event handles curbside piles but not what you carry out of the house. Confirm current arrangements with Brevard County, because they change event to event.
What is the difference between a 30 and a 40 yard?
Side height, and nothing else. Both are 22 feet long and 8 feet wide; the 30 gives you six feet of rail and the 40 gives you eight. The payload limit is the same legal axle weight for both, so the extra volume in a 40 is only usable on genuinely light material. If you are loading by hand, the 30 is far easier to work all day. If a machine is loading and the debris is screening, aluminium or packaging, a 40 yard dumpster earns the difference.
Will a 30 yard fit at a house in Viera or Suntree?
Frequently yes, because those are newer subdivisions with longer, wider driveways and far fewer mature street trees than downtown Melbourne or Eau Gallie. What still catches people is the HOA. Suntree, Viera and Baytree associations commonly set placement rules, day limits and sometimes an approval step, and those rules are amended, so confirm with your association before you book. Send us a photo of the drive and the approach and we will tell you whether the box and the truck both fit.
Can I put roofing shingles in a 30 yard dumpster?
Only a modest amount, and never a full roof. Shingle is dense enough that a 30 goes overweight while it still looks a third empty, and concrete barrel tile is far worse — three to four times the weight of a shingle square. Tear-offs belong in smaller boxes hauled more than once. Our roofing dumpster rental page works from square counts. Tell us the squares, the layers and the material and we will set the rotation before your crew starts stripping.
