Roll-Off
Roll-Off Dumpster Rental in Melbourne, FL
The full roll-off line — 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 yard containers delivered across Melbourne, the beaches and Brevard County. Flat-rate pricing, protection boards standard, next-day swaps, and honest sizing advice before the truck rolls.
A roll-off is the open-top steel container that arrives on the back of a truck and gets winched down onto your driveway or lot on a set of rails. There is no lifting arm and no compactor — the whole box comes and goes on the truck, which is why the driver needs a straight approach, firm ground and clear overhead. That mechanical simplicity is the point: you load at your own pace, and when it is full we pull the whole thing and take it to the right facility.
We run five sizes: 10 yard for dense material like concrete, tile and terrazzo, 15 and 20 yard for the bulk of household and remodel work, and 30 and 40 yard for construction and commercial jobs where the waste is light and bulky. The choice is rarely about square footage and almost always about what the material weighs. The size comparison page puts the dimensions side by side, and we will steer you down a size when the load is heavy.
Collins & Co has run containers on the Space Coast since 2015, and we cover the county end to end — Titusville and Merritt Island in the north, through Melbourne, Rockledge, Suntree and Viera, out to West Melbourne and Palm Bay, south to Malabar and Grant-Valkaria, and across the causeways to Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Indialantic and Melbourne Beach. Flat-rate pricing, licensed and insured, and a swap the next morning when the box fills faster than you planned.
How Roll-Off Service Actually Works
Delivery And The Approach
The driver needs roughly sixty feet of straight approach and clear overhead for the hoist. We check surface, slope and low limbs before backing in, and boards go under the rails.
Loading At Your Own Pace
The box stays for the rental period, so you load when the crew or the family is available. Keep the material level with the top rail so the load can be tarped legally.
The Swap-Out
Fill it early and we pull the full box and set an empty one, usually the next morning. Booking the swap with the drop keeps it on the schedule instead of hoping for a slot.
Final Pull And Disposal
One call ends it. The container leaves and the load goes to the correct facility, which depends entirely on whether it is mixed waste, clean concrete or vegetative debris.
Flat-Rate Pricing
You know the number before the truck rolls, including delivery, the rental period, an allowance and the haul. No guessing at the end of the job and no surprise line items.
Clean Loads And Separation
Concrete on its own, yard trash on its own, mixed waste together. Florida separates yard trash from solid waste, and a contaminated load gets reclassified at the scale.
Protection Boards As Standard
Boards go under the rails on every set, not as an upsell. Pavers, shell drives and thin aprons all need it, and we photograph the surface when we arrive.
Countywide Coverage
From Titusville down to Grant-Valkaria, out through Palm Bay and West Melbourne, and across the causeways to the barrier island. Beachside access gets planned before dispatch.
Picking From The Five Sizes
Weight decides more often than volume does. A 10 yard is the right box for concrete, block, tile, terrazzo and dirt — dense material that reaches a legal load limit while the container still looks half empty. The 15 and the 20 yard handle most home cleanouts, remodels, roof tear-offs and small commercial turnovers, and between them they cover the majority of what we set in Melbourne. The 30 yard and the 40 belong on construction sites, whole-house cleanouts and commercial strip-outs where the waste is light and bulky and there is genuine room to place a longer box. If you are unsure, describe the material rather than the room count and we will size it for you. Tell us what is coming out, how the driveway or lot is laid out and when it has to be gone, and the size answer takes about a minute on the phone.

Coverage runs the length of the county. North through Rockledge, Cocoa, Merritt Island and Titusville; the core around Melbourne, Suntree, Viera and Eau Gallie; west into West Melbourne and out along Minton and Malabar Road; south to Palm Bay, Malabar and Grant-Valkaria; and across the Melbourne, Eau Gallie and Pineda causeways to Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Indialantic and Melbourne Beach. Barrier island jobs need more planning — the driveways are short and often shell or paver, the streets are narrow, and condo associations set their own placement rules. Out west toward Malabar and the Deer Run area we are watching for septic fields, shallow wells and soft sand lanes. Full detail sits on our service areas page, and the contact page is the fastest way to get a spot confirmed.

Roll-Off Dumpster Rental FAQs
How much space does a roll-off need on my property?
Plan on the container length plus roughly ten feet of clearance, and about sixty feet of straight approach so the truck can line up and winch the box down. Overhead matters as much as ground: the hoist needs clear air, so mature oaks, palms and service drops all get checked. A standard Melbourne driveway takes a 15 or a 20 without trouble. If yours is short, narrow or shell, send a photo and we will confirm before dispatch.
How long can I keep the container?
The standard rental period covers most jobs, and we can extend it if the work runs long — just tell us before the pull date rather than after. If the box fills before you finish, a swap the next morning is usually available. Where an HOA or a permit limits how many days a container may sit, that limit governs, so check with your association or the City of Melbourne, since those rules change.
What can I not put in a roll-off?
No liquids, fuel, oil, paint, solvents or pool chemicals; no batteries, tyres or propane tanks; no refrigerant-bearing appliances until they are properly evacuated; and no asbestos-containing material in any container, ever. Household hazardous waste goes to a Brevard County drop-off instead. Yard trash has to travel as its own clean load. Brevard County publishes current accepted materials, and our FAQ page covers the rest.
Do you take the container away when I am done, or do I call?
Call us and we schedule the pull, usually for the next working day. We do not sit waiting on a fixed date, because most jobs finish either early or late and neither is a problem. If you want the box gone by a specific deadline — a closing, an inspection, an association limit — tell us the date when you book and we will build the schedule backwards from it rather than treating it as a surprise at the end.
Is anything recycled or does it all go to landfill?
It depends entirely on how clean the load is. A container of nothing but broken concrete has a recycling route. Clean vegetative debris goes to a mulching or yard-waste facility. Metal gets separated where the volume justifies it. A mixed load of everything at once has fewer options, which is a real argument for keeping streams apart on site. Our Brevard recycling and disposal guide explains the routes.
